The requirement for routine genotyping of breeding laboratory animals is ingrained in the breeding process. For a researcher's breeding program to be managed effectively, accuracy, speed, and availability of genotyping data are crucial. Our company offers specialized and effective genotyping services to assist a range of studies. We help ensure that our customers' mouse or rat models have the required genetic profile through a variety of tests and techniques.
Service Overview

Genotyping is a method used to determine the genetic make-up of an organism and Our company's genotyping service combines state-of-the-art sequencing and genotyping technology with a tailored service. From a small number of samples and single markers to high throughput, your DNA material is in the best hands.
Our company uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR), single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) based methods to genotype individual laboratory animals. We operate the largest genotyping laboratory of its kind in the world. We have a proven track record of providing the highest quality data, achieving breakthrough cost savings across a large number of project types and working with hundreds of different species.
Research Capabilities
PCR Genotyping
Our PCR genotyping service offers assays for common transgenic targets such as neomycin, luciferase, GFP, lacZ and Cre recombinases, as well as the development of custom gene-specific assays for targeted mutations (knock-in/knock-out).
Point Mutation Genotyping
Our point mutation genotyping service uses probe-based PCR for SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) and Indel (insertion and deletion) testing for both large and small projects, including SNP, validation and screening. Our point mutation genotyping service also reports the congenicity of targets.
SNP Genotyping
Our company offers different genotyping techniques depending on the application and species, the purpose of the analysis, the number of SNPs per sample and the number of samples in the study. These options include:
- For genome-wide SNP genotyping, such as population studies, association studies, genomic selection, we recommend and offer Illumina Bead Chips, Affymetrix Gene Chips or next generation sequencing (NGS).
- For gene-wide SNP genotyping, such as fine mapping of candidate regions or haplotypes, we recommend Fluidigm Biomark, NGS or array-based technologies.
- For the analysis of individual SNPs, such as identifying specific mutations in phage genetics or diagnostics that include a small number of SNPs, we offer real-time PCR assays, Sanger sequencing and the technologies mentioned above.
