Hydrogel Forming Microneedle Technology Platform

Hydrogel forming microneedles are micron-scale projections composed of crosslinked hydrophilic polymers. When applied to the skin, they painlessly pierce the stratum corneum and absorb interstitial fluid, forming a hydrogel matrix. This allows drugs in a separate reservoir to diffuse through the hydrogel into systemic circulation without leaving residual materials in the skin. Unlike dissolving or solid microneedles, hydrogel forming microneedles:

  • Do not leave polymeric debris in the body
  • Offer high biocompatibility
  • Enable sustained and controlled release
  • Support delivery of both small molecules and biologics

This makes them ideal for vaccines, peptides, proteins, nucleic acids, and other sensitive therapeutic agents.

  • Synthetic Polymer: Gelatin methacryloyl, methacrylate-based hyaluronic acid, polyvinyl alcohol, etc.
  • Combined Natural and Synthetic Polymer

These can be tailored to control mechanical strength, regulate swelling rate, and modulate release kinetics. Moreover, our materials are optimized for skin penetration, minimal irritation, and consistent performance, enabling wide adaptability across therapeutic areas.

Precision Microfabrication Technology

Our cleanroom manufacturing facilities use micromolding, casting, electrospinning and 3D microfabrication techniques to produce high-fidelity microneedle arrays. We offer:

  • Varying microneedle lengths (200-800 µm)
  • Array densities (up to 400 needles/cm2)
  • Optimized tip sharpness and geometry

This allows for reproducible skin insertion without pain or bleeding, making the platform suitable for self-administration.
