Description	Amlodipine Besylate is the besylate salt of amlodipine, a synthetic dihydropyridine with antihypertensive and antianginal effects. Amlodipine inhibits the influx of extracellular calcium ions into myocardial and peripheral vascular smooth muscle cells, thereby preventing vascular and myocardial contraction.
